Michael Schumacher Condition Update: F1 Legend Has Pneumonia As Doctors Try To Get Him Out Coma

Michael Schumacher remains in an induced-coma several weeks after his accident while skiing along French Alps. His family has been in a very long emotional battle and is thankful for the support of fans. However, in another shocking twist, it seems that the family's misery just won't end. Reports have it that the seven-time world champ has contracted another disease.

Citing German newspaper Bild Daily as the source, Fox News reported that the 45-year old German racer "has developed pneumonia as doctors at a French hospital continue to work to bring him out of a medically induced coma, according to a report in a German newspaper."

"The Bild daily, which is believed to have several sources close to the legendary driver, reported Wednesday that doctors had diagnosed Schumacher with pneumonia last week," Fox News wrote.

Doctors from the Grenoble Hospital have been swamped by negative rumors about Schumacher's condition. Last week, speculations that the former Ferrari driver is already dead hit the web. However, Grenoble Hospital denied that rumor and cleared that Schumacher is still in induced coma and plead  for the public to stop making such claims.

This new rumor is not different though. Pneumonia is a dangerous disease that nobody would want to have. It is even harder for a person who is in coma and has been forcefully taking a regimen of blood thinners to prevent thrombosis.

"Pneumonia is generally a serious and dangerous disease because the body is supplied with less oxygen and is overall very weakened," Prof. Heinzpeter Moecke, Director of the Institute for Emergency Medicine at the Asklepios Clinic in Hamburg told Bild.

Schumacher remains unresponsive more than a month after receiving severe brain damages after his head hit a rock while skiing. His wife, Corrina, has been talking to him even his asleep, hoping it would provide a miracle. Germany's Bild-Zeitung also reported that he is also not responding to stimuli.
