Yuna Kim Dismisses Julia Lipnitskaia Threat For 2014 Sochi Olympics Figure Skating Gold: Ashley Wagner, Mao Asada, Caroline Kostner Gearing Up For Fierce Ice Battle!

As the figure skating Olympics journey gears for the ladies individual competition, all eyes are on defending Olympic champion Yuna Kim and new darling Julia Lipnitskaia.

On Wednesday, Yuna Kim left Seoul for Sochi to the ladies figure skating competition, and NTD reports that despite Julia Lipnitskaia having gold medal buzz, she is unfazed by the young rising star.

"It doesn't help me to pay too much attention to how others perform. What's most important is getting the scores I have targeted," says Yuna Kim to reporters.

"Unlike (Lipnitskaia), this is my last Olympics bid so it's different for me."

Winning a second Olympic gold would mean infinite star power and history-making, and Yuna Kim seems more poised than ever.

“I’m not feeling much pressure for the Olympics because I think I already have done many things in my career," says Yuna Kim to JoongAng Daily.

And Julia Lipnitskaia is not the only figure skating chasing what Yuna Kim has already accomplished. Mao Asada, Ashley Wagner, and Carolina Kostner are just a few names trying to get on that podium.

"Vancouver was my first Olympics and it was so amazing. I was very excited and also nervous," says Mao Asada, the defending silver medalist.

"Here in Sochi I am much more relaxed and also calmer, which makes it easier for me to focus on my performance. I try to take it like every other competition."

"I must say, I feel overwhelmed," adds Carolina Kostner, the 2012 world champion.

"There's so much information, so many people, so many things to do. On one hand, I want to focus on my work, but then again, I want to see it all, do it all; I'm here only once."
