John Wall Vs Blake Griffin Dunk Contest Brewing? Dunker Of The Night Questions Clipper All-Star’s 2011 Contest Win! Let's Have A Dunk-off!

John Wall is this year's Dunk Contest Winner. No matter how controversial or anti-climactic they say it is, 'Dunker of the Night' or whatever you call it, 2014's NBA dunk winner is John Wall. And 2011's winner is Blake Griffin.

Before this year's contest, Wall had some intriguing comments about the controversial 2011 dunk contest win of Blake Griffin.

Speaking to SI.com: "[McGee] really should have won. I thought he should have won. Not even because he's my teammate just because of the stuff he was doing."

On Blake Griffin's celebrated winning dunk where he jumped over a Kia: "He really didn't jump over the car: "If you can dunk, you can do that. All you've got to do is make sure you don't hit the front of the car, then catch the ball and hang on the rim. I have seen guys really jump over the hood of the car and do windmills and stuff. It was big time because it was a Kia and because it was in L.A."

And it seems like anyone else should've won except Blake: "Even DeMar, I felt like DeMar got snubbed in that Dunk Contest. I'm just giving my opinion and being honest. ... In my opinion, I feel like they both [got snubbed]."

Blake has already mentioned that he doesn't want to join the dunk contest anymore. Then he backtracked. Perhaps he wants to shut up all the critics. How about shutting up John Wall with a dunk showdown? That would be great! But maybe we should have it three ways, because John Wall ain't finished yet:

"I think LeBron's not really a big Dunk Contest person. Some people are more in-game dunkers. You look at [the] McDonald's game. He won it off - I think LeBron just won it off hype. Shannon Brown could have won that one."

In 2003, the top high school players in the USA faced off at the McDonalds All-American, and in the Dunk Contest in the event, Lebron James faced off with Shannon Brown. James was already the most-hyped player in the country at that time.

Wall was not so critical, he has to explain his observation: "Some people are more in-game dunkers than if you throw them a basketball and you've got to dunk in front of all these people. I'm more of a Dunk Contest person. In games, I don't try all them because I'm not trying to miss and get taken out of the game or be on 'Not Top 10.' In the contest, you can miss and be like, 'I have three more tries.'"

He is actually accurate, but what we all want is for his statements to provoke a three way dunk contest with him, Lebron James and Blake Griffin. All three of them are first overall picks, the best of their batch, although John Wall lost the Rookie of the Year award to Griffin. Was that the source of his beef?

Griffin was drafted in 2009, but he got injured pre-season so his actual rookie year was the same as John Wall's in 2010-11. Wall was the first overall pick of the 2010 Draft.
