The NBA Trade Rumors champion, Rajon Rondo apparently carries a steep price. It is something that other teams would not give. Danny Ainge has demanded unprotected draft picks for his All-Star Guard.

The original statement came from Sam Smith and his nba.com column. CSNNE.com already responded to this:

"Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has repeatedly said that he has no plans of trading Rajon Rondo.

Considering what reportedly Ainge would want in order to part with Rondo, he won't have much of a problem keeping true to his word.

Sam Smith of Bulls.com reported that, "... the asking price if you can get Rondo is said to be two unprotected first rounders."

Actually, the Celtics are looking for more than just draft picks if they are to move Rajon Rondo. In addition to multiple picks, the Celtics would be seeking at least one young, up-and-coming, borderline All-Star caliber talent in return."

That's pretty steep. Considering that he is injured and there are a lot of great point guards in the league, Rajon Rondo could actually BE a borderline All-Star himself. However, Danny Ainge knows that Rondo is still one of the most desirable assets, aside from Kevin Love.

One rival Eastern Conference Executive states: "Danny's not stupid. He knows he has an asset that's probably going to keep getting better and better this season. That's why it's hard to imagine them trading him this week. Now this summer? Who knows."

However, Ainge must evaluate the offers. Rondo will become a free agent at the end of next season, and the other teams' desire for Rondo will start to work against him, not for him. Rondo is a top 5 point guard before he went down, but most executives are convinced that he has reached his ceiling. It should also be considered that point guard, while being the most essential position in the past couple of years, is also one of the easiest to replace.
