Trade Rumors of Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin are supposedly “on the table” for negotiations after Asik begged for a trade early in the season but words from Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey say otherwise.

From Clutch fans website, Morey expressed that the team is excited to still have Asik for the franchise’s future after failing to get teams to negotiate a trade with them for the 7-foot center.

"At this point, Omer is very likely going to be here until the end of his contract at the end of next season, not this season. The window to trade him was [in December], and teams weren't aggressive enough to get him, so we're excited about him being a part of our future."

This is contrary however to what analysts would say about Asik, as Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports wrote: "Houston would love to trade center Omer Asik, and a source said it is actively shopping Jeremy Lin as well," after getting rumors that the team has been negotiating yet again for their players.

From Bleacher Report, rumors say that Rajon Rondo is a prime target for the team to trade in for the two Houston players.

Before the NBA trade deadline this Thursday, Pau Gasol has been also in rumors for getting traded out of Los Angeles amidst the struggle the team has been experiencing to “get the ball rolling” for the team as Lakers’ General Manager Mitch Kupchack is looking at his team’s future rather than getting back on this injury-filled season for the Lakers.

"As a general manager, we're always looking a year or two or three down the road," Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak said. "Our approach going into this deadline might be a little different than it's been in year's past. We may look to shore up a position going into the playoff run. It may not be. But certainly I'm respectful and mindful of our record."
