Miami Heat Center Chris Andersen Mohawk Is Gone! Lebron James Silences Shawn Marion With Dominating Performance!

The Miami Heat lost one of their trademarks in Center Chris Andersen's Mohawk. However, there is one thing they won't lose, at least until the end of the season-Lebron James' dominance.

Chris Andersen, AKA the Birdman showed up without his feathers-er Mohawk right before Tuesday's game . His head is now topped by a clean buzzcut.

Andersen mentioned to the Sun Sentinel that the reason behind the change was "less maintenance."

Was Coach Erik Spoelstra worried that the Birdman is slowly becoming more 'ordinary?'

Apparently not. Spoelstra responds: "I think he has quite a few other things that people can still look at."

The Sun Sentinel shares an anecdote about the first appearance of the Andersen's Mohawk, way back in 2001, his rookie year with the Denver Nuggets. They note how the coaches have reacted so differently.

" 'You're not playing like that,' coach Jeff Bzdelik said.

'Coach, I just paid $500 to fix it like this,'Andersen said.

'You've got two choices,' Bzdelik said. 'Go in the shower and rinse that out of your hair, or do an about-face out of here because you ain't playing or even sitting on the bench like that. This game isn't about you drawing attention to yourself.
Andersen went to the shower and washed his hair."

That is Coach Spoelstra's secret. He respects his players' personalities and does not try to stifle them. He knows how to work their different temperaments into the gameplan.

Speaking of temperaments, Lebron James virtually beat Dallas by himself, with 42 points, nine rebounds and six assists. He totally dominated Shawn Marion who earlier declared that Lebron should not be in the NBA Mt. Rushmore. Did this motivate the King?

His response, from nba.com: "I really don't care what people say or what people think, that's not for me or my concern. I think, once again, it was blown out of context. But, I feel like when it's all said and done, my personal goal is that I can be one of the greatest to ever play this game, and I won't sell myself short and I won't continue to stop believing and saying and thinking what I believe in as far as personal goals. So, it doesn't matter what Shawn Marion says, or what anybody says about the way I play the game of basketball."
