NBA Trade Deadline 2014: Boston Celtics, New York Knicks And Houston Rockets Looking For Big Changes; Is Carmelo Anthony Going To Stay With New York?

With one day remaining before the 2014 NBA season trade deadline, rumors scatter on who's getting traded to the other teams with rebuilding teams get ready to finish their transaction that would probably be the best for them.

Rajon Rondo is the hot topic in this year's trade deadline as numerous teams are said to be interested with the star point guard of the Boston Celtics. The star point guard is reported to be asking for a high price that the Raptors can possibly cover as the Toronto Sun reports:

"It's no secret Boston has dangled four-time all-star Rajon Rondo league-wide and while the asking price is steep, he has piqued the interest of Toronto's front office, according to multiple sources. Toronto is eager to up its "star" quotient and is also enamoured with Rondo's resume, particularly his four all-defensive team selections (two all-NBA first team). He has many backers in the organization.

However, Rondo tore his ACL just over a year ago, has only played in 10 contests this season and will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2015 after earning $12.9 million next year."

With regards to Rajon Rondo, Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik are rumored to get traded this year, as Asik has asked the team for a trade earlier in the season. Yahoo analyst Marc Spears said: "Houston would love to trade center Omer Asik, and a source said it is actively shopping Jeremy Lin as well," after getting rumors that the team has been negotiating yet again for their players.

With New York reportedly interested with Kyle Lowry after being reported to chase the guard asking to play for the Knicks for a while already. ESPN would say that: "The Knicks are offering packages including Iman Shumpert, Raymond Felton and Beno Udrih, sources say. They have been reluctant to include sharpshooting rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. or a future first-round draft pick in any deal. One of those two pieces is believed to be a prerequisite for Toronto to consider giving up Lowry."

Pau Gasol has been also in rumors for getting traded out of Los Angeles amidst the struggle the team has been experiencing to "get the ball rolling" for the team as Lakers' General Manager Mitch Kupchack is looking at his team's future rather than getting back on this injury-filled season for the Lakers.

"As a general manager, we're always looking a year or two or three down the road," Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak said. "Our approach going into this deadline might be a little different than it's been in year's past. We may look to shore up a position going into the playoff run. It may not be. But certainly I'm respectful and mindful of our record."

According to Bleacher Report, the New York Knicks have been discussing deals with the Los Angeles Clippers where they talking about trading out guard Iman Shumpert for point guard Darren Collison that would also include Raymond Felton. The deal has been reported to be "put on the table" but no confirmation or finalization yet has been set for the trade.

In another report, Carmelo Anthony has also been in rumors lately as the Chicago Bulls are interested to bring the superstar of the Knicks to Chicago as they are rumored to be ready to let go of Carlos Boozer, Kirk Hinrich and Mike Dunleavy to get Felton, Shumpert and Melo in the process. No confirmed deals and discussions have been made yet.
