NBA Trade Rumors: Luol Deng To Move Again? Cavs Did Not Improve And Duke Star Will Not Stay In Cleveland; Who Will They Get?

The NBA Trade Rumors For Luol Deng will not stop. Not even after a trade. The Cavs had a four game winning streak, and the morale of the team is high, but Deng will still not stay.

It's a long shot, but for a team that wants Deng which does not have cap space, they would need to trade for him and use the Bird rights for the extension. ESPN reports that those teams exist:

"Sources say the Cavs are concerned about being able to re-sign Deng this offseason, as he'll be an unrestricted free agent for the first time. Several teams with cap space, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, are expected to be interested in Deng."

Cleveland's local blog,Fear the Sword debated both sides. The side for trading:

"You might be able to get a first round pick in this 2014 draft by trading Luol Deng. There will obviously be a number of teams interested in acquiring him, so you might be able to create a sort of bidding war and get a decent asset in exchange.

He's not helping the Cavs right now. He's been worse in Cleveland than he was in Chicago and there hasn't been a substantial difference between when he plays and when he sits."

The Side Against:  "Trading away Deng sends a negative message to the players in the locker room. I think this is one of the most important arguments against trading Luol Deng. After winning 4 straight games and finally buying into what the coaching staff is trying to accomplish, you trade one of your best veterans? What does that tell the team? As an organization, you have to show players that you're serious about winning if you want them to be serious about winning. Trading Deng for future assets does the opposite of that."

Cleveland calls the shots now. They can just let Deng's contract lapse, and they only need to trade when they get an asset. This trade may happen, but it would not make much difference for the Cavaliers. Just like Luol Deng himself.
