There are only hours before the deadline, and the NBA Trade Rumors are at its peak. Houston now wants Rajon Rondo in a desperate attempt to get the most for Omer Asik.

The recent statements of Rockets GM  Daryl Morey that Omer Asik will stay were not bought by rival executives, or even the fans. It is clear that he has no choice but to trade him. Houston is willing to give up Jeremy Lin to package with Asik just to solve this dilemma.

However, there are certain problems with this deal. As expected, Danny Ainge will ask for the moon in exchange for his top trade chip. Ainge can also sense Morey's desperation. He wants blossoming forward Chandler Parsons as part of the package. ESPN reports:

"One main stumbling block, sources said, is Boston's desire to acquire blossoming Houston swingman Chandler Parsons in a potential Rondo deal. Sources say the Rockets have informed the Celtics that they are not prepared to surrender Parsons as part of a Rondo package."

According to Clutchfans, the Rockets have already declared that Dwight Howard, James Harden and Chandler Parsons are "untouchable."

But they can offer a lot of young players to Boston instead of Parsons. From ESPN:

"Houston also possesses draft picks to deal and a cache of young players beyond Parsons -- such as disgruntled (and very available) big man Omer Asik along with the likes of Patrick Beverley, Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas -- to try to tempt the Celtics.

The close relationship between Morey and Boston counterpart Danny Ainge -- Morey spent time in the Celtics' front office under Ainge -- makes it easy for the teams to engage in trade discussions."

The ball is now on the Boston Celtics court. They can choose from any of these players and pull the trigger or play hardball with Houston. The Rockets want a roster upgrade if they will lose Asik. They want a strong playoff run as expectations are high after they acquired Dwight Howard last July.
