Switzerland allowed three goals early against Canada, and was not able to make the comeback, but the shocker of the Olympics was to see Sweden have the chance to medal. The top four teams in the world were grouped together purposely. The favorite to win a bronze in Finland was upset by the Sweds in the quarterfinal.

If it wasn't for the bad start for the Swiss and goaltender Florence Schelling, maybe they could have pulled off the upset over Canada. They allowed three goals within the first 10 minutes of the first period. That's all that Canada would get. Switzerland made it 3-1 early in the second period, but that was all they could muster up.

The Canadians took two penalties, given the Swiss an opportunity for a 5-on-3 advantage. After the first penalty expired, Switzerland still had a one-skater advantage. A scramble in front of the net led to Canadian goalie Shannon Szabados being out of position. Swiss forward Jessica Lutz capitalized and slid a puck past Szabados for Switzerland's first goal against Canada in two games, according to Global News.

Switzerland was projected to be playing in the bronze medal game, so this is where they're meant to be.
