NBA Trade Rumors: Andre Miller To Wizards! Dunk Champion John Wall Gets Veteran Backup In Three-Team Deal

The NBA Trade Rumors continue, hours before the deadline. No blockbuster deals were made as yet, but some teams have solved their nagging problems. The Denver Nuggets and the Washington Wizards are two of them.

Having a player demand a trade in public is a GMs worst nightmare. Andre Miller, the 37 year old grizzled veteran has not played since a publicized rift with their coach. The Nuggets have tried to trade him ever since. Teams like the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors who want a veteran behind their star guard were interested, but no deal was completed.

The deadline finally yielded the answer. From  Yahoo NBA:

"The Denver Nuggets have agreed in principle to trade exiled point guard Andre Miller to the Washington Wizards as part of a three-team deal, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Wizards would send forward Jan Vesely to the Nuggets and move guard Eric Maynor and two second-round picks to the Philadelphia 76ers, league sources said.

Washington had been pursuing Miller as a backup to All-Star John Wall and as an upgrade over Maynor.

Miller, 37, had a 239-consecutive-game streak end earlier this season, culminating a feud with Denver coach Brian Shaw that led to Miller being separated from the team for more than seven weeks.

He had been averaging 5.9 points and 3.3 assists for the Nuggets this season."

This was a low key trade, but for the Wizards, a veteran presence at the point would be very useful, as the team will likely enter the playoffs after a long drought. They obviously want to hang around, and if they complete another trade that they're planning, they stand a chance to make the second round.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, they were added in the transaction only to absorb Eric Maynor's contract. For their brotherly act, they get another two second round draft picks. They already acquired two picks from the Cavs earlier in the day.
