Milwaukee will host Denver for the second meeting season and second in 15 days. The Nuggets (24-28) opened up their post all-star games with an overtime loss vs the Suns on Tuesday. The Bucks (10-43) got their 10th win of the season for their first game since the break with a victory over the Magic, which snapped a four-game losing streak. Leading scorer Ty Lawson (18.0 points per game) is likely to miss a fourth straight game with a fractured rib, but that won't prevent the Nuggets from putting forth another maximum effort, according to ESPN.com. The Nuggets have not won since their game against the Bucks earlier in February.
"That was one of the things we emphasized over the last few days, was that (we needed to) go out and compete," coach Brian Shaw, whose team hasn't won since a 110-100 victory over Milwaukee on Feb. 5 told NBA.com.
If Milwaukee wins, it would be for the first time since last March 17-19 that the Bucks would win two straight. Nate Wolters hit a 3-pointer with 29 seconds left to help Milwaukee improve to 3-19 in 2014 at home.
"Hopefully we can build on this and win a couple in a row here," said Wolters, who had 15 points and eight assists. "We can look at (the post-All-Star break) as a new season."
Denver currently sits at the 11th spot in the Western Conference following finishing as the third seed a season ago. It won 57 games that year, losing 25. The Nuggets have exceeded that number already this season by three games with still with 30 games to go.
The Nuggets traded Andre Miller to the Wizards as part of a three-team deal. They also acquire Aaron Brooks from the Rockets to help out their woes at point guard with Miller suspension prior to trade and the constant injuries to Lawson.
