Celtics vs Kings live stream: Watch online free 10:10 ET Saturday night as DeMarcus Cousins makes his return to the lineup for Sacramento at home.
The 19-37 Boston Celtics are coming off a loss vs the Lakers last night where they had a 12-point lead. The ended up losing by 11 in the end, marking the third straight loss for the team. Now they play a team in the Kings (18-36) that will get back their star player in Cousins. The Kings, losers in 11 of 14, were outscored 52-32 in the paint without Cousins because of a hip injury on Wednesday.
"His presence alone is going to help us," Thomas said of Cousins. "He's a guy that demands double-teams, a guy that's going to open it up for a lot people. ... Whatever he can give us is going to be a plus. We need him."
Cousins went toe-to-toe with Jared Sullinger as both posted 31 points -- a career high for Sullinger -- and 16 rebounds as the Kings shot less than 35 % from the field.
"We have to play with a chip on our shoulder. When that jump ball goes off, there are no friends on the other sideline," Kings coach Mike Malone said. "Jared Sullinger had his way with us (and) we have an opportunity to pay him back, let him know that he's not going to do that to us again in our building."
Rajon Rondo dished out 11 assists but finished with just six points while shooting 2 of 12 in the loss last night against the Lakers. The Celtics were held to 39.2 percent from the floor, going 4 of 22 from 3-point range.
"That 11-point lead was gone in a heartbeat," Celtics coach Brad Stevens said. "We've got to be able to respond to adversity better."
