College Basketball Rivalries: Syracuse Vs Duke Controversial Call Topples Top Ranked Orangemen! [VIDEO-Be The Judge!]

After the big Duke vs. University of North Carolina game which featured the biggest rivalry in college basketball (and maybe all of sports), a new rivalry has emerged!

Syracuse used to be one of the top schools in the Big East. It had a rivalry with Georgetown that lasted for 35 years and had the legacy of disdain between them.

No different from the rivalry between Duke and North Carolina. This rivalry has more notoriety because they are in-state neighbors and the two schools are the most consistent suppliers of NBA talent.

Syracuse is not that bad, either. It can even be argued that they have best active player among over those schools with Carmelo Anthony. This year, they have everything Duke has and more. They were undefeated before this week until two successive losses: an upset from Boston College and this Duke game.

Their first meeting was a 91-89 overtime thriller that was dubbed as "the game of the year.(ESPN). The second game had more defense, as both teams already had a taste of each other. It was a drawn out epic that was decided by one call: A charging foul on C.J. Fair of the Orangemen.

That call sent the usually reserved Boeheim to an outburst and he got ejected. His first ejection in a regular season game in a career that spans 38 years!

CBS Sports spoke to the Syracuse side. Coach Jim Boeheim; "I just thought that was the worst call of the year, that's all. I hated to see the game decided on that call."

CJ Fair: "I thought it was a block or a no-call. I don't think there was that much contact, either."

From SI.com, Duke's Rodney Hood who took the charge: "I knew they were going to C.J.," Hood told SI.com. "As soon as he made his move I stepped over. I think I got there before he did. I knew I wasn't going to block his shot. He's too good of an athlete. So I stood there and took it."

CBS took Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski's final word: "Another great game. Different from the first one because it seemed like both teams were scoring easy up in Syracuse, and today it was really difficult to score. I don't know how either team could play any harder."

Watch the call and judge it for yourself!
