The Orlando Magic (17-41) look to avoid losing their fifth in sixth games when they go on the road into Washington vs a 28-28 Wizards team, hoping to leave with only their fourth road win of the season. After Nene banged knees with Spencer Hawes in the third quarter, Washington went on to hold the Cavaliers to 11 points on 4-of-19 shooting in the fourth quarter, for what equaled the team's the third straight victory.
"We felt bad when he got hurt, but during the game, you have to keep focused the whole way, which we did," forward Kevin Seraphin, one of the players expected to replace Nene told NBA.com.
The knee injury will keep Nene out from four to six weeks. Trevor Booker will get the chance to start in his place Tueday.
Orlando will be playing its second of a four-game road trip. The Magic have struggled to stay close during their road slide overall, losing by an average of 14.0 points since an 83-82 win in Chicago on Dec. 16. They've lost every road game since and now one loss shy of equaling the longest such skid in franchise history, set in 2006.
"It's two things, it's focus and discipline, the discipline to continue to do the right thing over and over again," coach Jacque Vaughn told NBA.com.
Aaron Afflalo could miss the game, but is listed as day-to-day.
This is the second of four meetings this season. Washington won the first one in December.
