Danny Granger: Teams Can Sign Former All-Star Forward Now! Former Pacer Prefers To Go West, Not Miami Out Of Respect For Indiana!

The predicted outcome has taken place and Danny Granger has been bought out by the Philadelphia 76ers. They were more concerned with the second round picks and dumping Evan Turner anyway.

However, that doesn't mean that Danny Granger is worthless. He has actually drawn interest from a number of contenders.  Despite the poor performance coming from an extended recovery time, Granger could mean a lot to a contender.

The teams in the running are the San Antonio Spurs and the LA Clippers. Also mentioned were the Bulls, Mavericks and Houston Rockets. All of these teams are still in contention for an extended playoff run. They all know that Granger is no longer the top-scoring gunner he was in Indiana prior to a series of injuries. The just need him to contribute valuable minutes under pressure.

The anticipated storybook tale (more like a Western or a Kung-Fu movie) of how Granger will sign  with Miami and torch his former team will not likely happen. From NBA Trades, Scores and Information:

"Danny Granger has been bought out. LAC in the hot seat to sign him with the Spurs on their heels. The Heat, whilst interested, don't seem to be in the running.

LAC can offer good $ and the best playing time situation, and word is that Granger wouldn't got to the Heat (and probably go to the West) out of respect and his love for IND. Doesn't want to come up against them in the ECF. ‪#‎ClassAct"

Said Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie in a statement: "His accomplishments and accolades to this point of his NBA career more than speak for themselves, so I would like to express that I have a great deal of respect for Danny Granger as a person. ... Given Danny's future goals and his desire to pursue them, we worked to fulfill his requests and have come to a resolution we feel is mutually beneficial to Danny and our organization."

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat are focusing on another player that was recently bought out of his contract. Caron Butler was originally drafted by the Heat in 2005 and was part of the package sent to the Lakers in exchange for Shaquille O' Neal.
