New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony Trade Advice From Dwight Howard; 'Have Fun' And 'Think Of Business'

The New York Knicks is not having a great season. Alright. Their current season sucks. From a title contender last year, they are now among the worst teams in the NBA. Hell, even Charlotte Bobcats is better than them. In their last six outings, they finished their games trailing by double digit, in a couple of times, they finished 30 points down.

With their campaign in limbo, one-man that gets the most attention, mostly negative, is Carmelo Anthony, the team's superstar. The 3rd overall pick of the 2003 draft moved to the Madison Square Garden to win a championship. However, after three seasons, the NBA ring still seems hard to reach for the 30-year old veteran. Because of this, many are thinking that Melo will decide to leave the New York Knicks once he become a free agent again.

There were rumors that linked him to the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and the Chicago Bulls but up to this day, Anthony remains mum about his future plans. Aside from trade rumors, there are also pieces of unsolicited advice swirling around. One man that jumped in, Dwight Howard of the Houston Rockets, the player who has been in Melo's situation twice in his career.

"I can't say (what he'll do). That's on him. He's got to decide. (But) he can't be what everybody else wants. In this situation, you've got to take your heart out of it...So I'd just say for him, take his heart out of it and think with his head and think about busines," said Howard in an interview with USA Today Sports.

"When I was in Orlando, a small market, and we were winning. I was very popular with a lot of different deals on the table. So it's moreso about winning, and you've got to put yourself in a position to where you're winning basketball games and you're having fun doing it. Losing is not fun, and Melo wants to win."

When Dwight Howard decided to follow his heart, he transferred to the Lakers but found no success. He was again on a crossroad after a failed season with the Lakers so he decided to suit up for the Rockets. If Howard succeeds in this season, then Melo definitely needs to follow the Rocket star's advice.
