Forbes Names Corrections Corporation of America The Top Dividend Stock With Insider Buying; Is CCA Hedging Its Future Against Marijuana Legalization

Forbes named Corrections Corporation of America the top dividend Stock with insider buying getting a  6.21% yield. Corrections Corporation of America is America's leading provider of correctional solutions to federal, state, and local government.

In other words, Corrections Corporation of America, headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., is the biggest prison company in America. The business of jailing has been good. Corrections Corporation of America earns $1.8 billion per year.

Forbes' is doing a series on the recent Dividend Channel "DividendRank" report. The magazine chose companies that have experienced insider buying within the past six months. The Magazine found Corrections Corporation of America (NYSE: CXW), and its director Anne L. Mariucci fitted the bill for officers and directors of a company with an inside view of the business, best positioned to see which undervalued stocks can be bought and unloaded for the quickest cash.

The Corrections Corporation of America shares were attractive and had strong metrics for profitability.

A recent CNN poll found that support for legalizing marijuana is soaring, with 55% of respondents supporting the legal use. In 2014, 13 states There are initiatives to legalize marijuana in 13 states in 2014 and five states have decriminalization on their agendas.

But the legalization of marijuana could be the biggest risk to this of Corrections Corporation of America's investment thesis.

The top line could shrink for Corrections Corporation of America investors if marijuana is legalized. About one-quarter of all prison inmates are non-violent drug offenders.
