Lebron James Career High 61 Points Lifts Heat In Easy Win Over Bobcats! Miami On Top Of Latest Power Rankings! Championship In The Bag?

The Miami Heat are peaking at the right time again. Just a month before the playoffs, Lebron James establishes a career high 61 points, even as Miami is already on top of the Power rankings.

From the latest ESPN Power rankings by Marc Stein, Miami toppled Indiana for the top spot. And to top it off, Lebron James, mask and all, scored a historic 61 points against the Charlotte Bobcats.

The mask does not bother the King one bit. It might even be a charm.

James told Sun Sports after the game: "The man above has given me some unbelievable abilities to play this game of basketball. I try to take advantage of it each and every night."

His Coach Erik Spoelstra, was in awe of his performance. Yet, he does not see it as a surprise from his best player. From AP: ''There was efficiency to what he was doing, The rim looked like an ocean for him.''

Lebron had some last words: ''I was happy I was able to make a few plays to help us win."

SI.com lists down the significance of today's game. For James' personal numbers:

"James surpassed his previous career-high of 56 points, set when he played for the Cavaliers in a Mar. 20, 2005 game against the Raptors.

Monday marked the 10th time in James' 11-year career that he has cracked the 50-point threshold, and it was first time he's done since so Feb. 2, 2011, when he scored 51 points against the Magic."

It was also one of the best all-around performances:

"The 61 points/seven rebounds/ five assists combination has only been done on three other occasions since the 1985-86 season: Michael Jordan (1990), David Robinson (1994) and Tracy McGrady (2004)."

Also, in terms of individual scoring:

"The last player to score at least 61 points on 33 or fewer shots was Lakers guard Kobe Bryant (2009)."

Also, for this season: "James becomes the second player this season to score at least 60 points in a game, joining Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, who dumped in a career-high 62 points against the Bobcats back in January."

The Miami Heat proved that the so-called problems that their team reportedly had were just overblown. They are playing like Champions! Will they complete their own trilogy in June?
