Andrew Bynum Contract With Cleveland Cavaliers Ended Because He ‘Threw Half-Court Shots At Practice’

Andrew Bynum was almost making a triumphant return while playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. After being sidelined for more than one year since being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia, Bynum found his way back to the court with the Cavs. However, the comeback was halted once more. He was released by Cleveland due to his bad behaviors in practice. He is now with the Indiana Pacers but he is still nowhere near the bench of the current league leaders.

The 26-year old player's fall out with the Cavs was because he wasn't cooperating in practice. On Monday, Bynum admitted to the accusations.

The Indy Star reported that the two-time NBA champion disrupt the Cavs practice by throwing shots from the half-court. Write Candace Buckner posted:

He did not work well under coach Mike Brown's detail-oriented structure. "It's kinda like, if I send you to the grocery store and I give you three choices for peanut butter, you'll probably pick one easily. But if I give you 25 choices, you might stand there for half an hour. Having it be too detailed may not always be the right thing," Bynum says.

Also, Bynum raged against the shoot-first guards. During a practice, Bynum said that he launched a shot from midcourt, clearly out of the rhythm of the offensive play. Another day during a scrimmage, he did not like a call from assistant coach Phil Handy and mocked him as "a horrible referee."

"Those are the two things I did," Bynum says. "I did them on purpose because it was over there for me."

Now with the Indiana Pacers, Bynum seems to be behaving well but that does not guarantee him of some burning time on the floor. Still, he is optimistic that he will be able to return and help his new team win the championship. His motivation, his two rings.

"My motivation is because I want a championship," Bynum told USA Today.

"I want to play."
