Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol has just survived ANOTHER trade deadline. Ever since that 2010 championship he, Kobe Bryant, and Phil Jackson got for the Hollywood team, the Spanish player has always been part of several trade rumor mills. This 2014, he's in trading block, or maybe rumors, again and just like the previous times, he survived. He is still a Laker.

Kobe Bryant himself is confident that Pau will remain with the team in the coming season. In a report by the Lakers Nation, the Black Mamba reportedly said that Lakers has 8 out 10 chance that Paul will wear the purple and gold again.

The news portal wrote:

Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher stated on the TNT broadcast that he spoke with Kobe Bryant prior to the game and asked him who he could "envision" on next year's team.

Bucher reported that Bryant included Pau Gasol's name, which the reporter said "surprised" him. Bucher further pressed Bryant, asking how confident the five-time champion is on a scale of one to 10, that Gasol will be with the Los Angeles Lakers next season, to which Bryant responded "eight."

While Gasol's partner is optimistic, the coach who steered them to back-to-back championships thinks otherwise. In a separate report by the Lakers Nation, it said that Phil Jackson, who has long been out of the Los Angeles Lakers camp, said that he isn't sure about Pau staying with his team for almost six years now.

"Well really, there's a limited free agent market this year. Luol Deng, and Pau Gasol is going to be a free agent - they can resign their own guy, which I don't know if Pau would want to re-sign with them or not. Maybe he feels that's not the best place, but he likes LA, he likes the fans. Who else is in the free agent market besides Luol that jumps (at you)?" Jackson said when asked about Lakers' chances in landing big names in free agency.
