Carmelo Anthony Trade Rumors: Derrick Rose Pitch In On ‘Melo To Bulls’ Campaign Started By Noah; Knicks Coach Mike Woodson Cries Foul

Joakim Noah has been a fun to watch this season. Aside from recording triple doubles, he also makes it to viral videos because of his funny antics, like that failed chest bump with Tony Snell where he is seen hilariously very disappointed. More than that, what the Frenchman really gets praises for is his heart and passion in the game. Ever since Derrick Rose was down, Noah has stepped up big time.

Helping the Chicago Bulls win games is not just the thing that Noah does for the team. He also contributes in building the franchise. Sources revealed that Noah tried to lure New York Knick star player Carmelo Anthony to the Windy City during the New Orleans All-Star Game. The ESPN wrote:

The sources said Noah told Anthony something to this effect: You can go to Los Angeles, but if you really want a ring, if you really want your legacy to be about winning, you should come to Chicago.

Anthony responded by telling Noah that he admires how hard the Bulls play and how hungry they are. Anthony also told Noah, according to the sources, that Derrick Rose is his son's favorite player.

The 29-year old player seems to have made a great choice as his partner and team's franchise player also pitched in.

According to the New York Post's Marc Berman, Rose wanted to have Melo on the ship, too. The injured star is even willing to have a cut on his salary just to land Carmelo.

Any opportunity I have to build that up in New York, I'd do it. I told people all the time, if it takes me taking a paycut, I'll be the first one on [Knicks owner] Mr. [James] Dolan's steps saying: 'Take my money and let's build something strong over here.'

While Noah and Rose seem to be bullish on landing Melo, New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson find it inappropriate.

In an interview with ESPN 98.7, Woodson said that "legally, nobody can recruit anyone."

"You can't do that at this point. Melo is still wearing a Knicks uniform and I hope he stays with the Knicks for the rest of his career. So whatever was said between Noah and the Chicago Bulls, that's on them."
