Andrew Bynum: Indiana Pacers Debut Impressive With 10 Rebounds! Will They Get Over The Heat Hump?

Andrew Bynum finally made his debut with the Indiana Pacers! With the team in a slump and their reserve big man injured, can Bynum give them quality minutes?

This was expected to be an easy outing for the Pacers as the Boston Celtics are another team in a slide (despite winning their last two). However, the Celts came out fighting and the Pacers shooting continued to struggle. The Pacers finally gathered and made a late run to clinch the game.

The AP post game recap:

"David West scored 24 points and Andrew Bynum grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds in his Pacers debut, helping suddenly struggling Indiana pull away late for a 94-83 win over Boston on Tuesday night.

Indiana (47-17) ended its longest losing streak of the season at four. Paul George added 12 points as the Pacers extended their Eastern Conference lead to 1½ games over two-time defending champion Miami in the East.

Boston (22-42) was led by Jared Sullinger with 17 points and Kris Humphries with 15 as its two-game winning streak ended."

Despite the win, there has been growing concern with Indiana. Critics are starting to doubt whether they are really an elite team. Their superstar Paul George only contributed 12 points and Roy Hibbert only had 6. This is not a combination that challenge Lebron James, Wade and Bosh.

ESPN also had their take:

"That was ... not a championship Pacers team: The Pacers led by as many as 15 points, but their struggles continued. They once again lost the third quarter and let the Celtics hang around in the game, but pulled out the double-digit victory."

Nevertheless, Andrew Bynum received a positive review: "Andrew Bynum entered the game in the first quarter to a nice ovation from the crowd. In his first game since December, he led all players in this contest with 10 rebounds. He added eight points as well.

It didn't take Bynum long to prove he can still play.He started with a dunk, breaking the 14-14 tie, on a post-up move. That spurred an 8-2 run that gave Indiana a 22-16 lead."

Indiana is still two games above Miami-who are also in a slump. But the champions are already proven, and the Pacers know they need to be more than impressive to take down the King's team.
