Coach Brian Shaw saw an overall effort indicative of the result against the Bobcats for their second straight loss.

"We didn't seem to get engaged in the game until the end when we were trying to scramble and come back," Shaw told the team's official website. "The game was in the balance all night long and we couldn't seem to get over the hump. They made the plays that they need to make down the stretch and we didn't."

Denver has gone 2-8 in its last 10, but its opponent hasn't fared much better. The Magic have lost three in a row and have gone 3-7 in their last 10 games.

Rookie Victor Oladipo, who had missed the past two games with a sore foot, scored 12 points in 19 minutes in his return.

"I felt like I was kind of slow with my reaction time because I haven't played in a while. Still no excuse," said Oladipo, who managed to go 5 of 6 from the floor. "I feel like I let my team down a little bit today but I've just got to keep growing and getting better."

Both teams have fallen out of contention but this could be a game with a lot of scoring. The Nuggets average 103.3 PPG, but allow 105.6 PPG. The Magic allow more than 102 points, but score close to triple digits a game.
