'SXSW' Kicked Off in Texas

The Los Angeles Times featured an article regarding "SXSW" kicking off in Austin, Texas. Numerous people came out to see the stars that came to this festival. Two stars that they mentioned were Jay Park and HyunA. Jay Park grew up in Seattle and was the leader of male group 2PM. The article stated that Jay Park "Has the chops to take K-Pop to new places." Reason is because of his music that has a Seattle beat to it. HyunA was mentioned as a favorite as she got recognition in the Unites States due to Psy for "Gangnam Style." After this, people started viewing her music videos on YouTube which they loved her single, "Bubble Pop."

Jackie Chan Has a K-Pop Group

The Guardian featured an article regarding Jackie Chan having and "managing" a new K-Pop male group. The name of the group is JJCC and since Jackie has been a fan of K-Pop, he decided to get a group together. The article also explains regarding Chinese news media Xinhua which is an English site that has translated articles from Chinese to English, stated regarding this new group. Xinhua stated, "Jackie Chan has always been overflowing with good words about K-Pop – after he saw K-Pop’s unlimited potential and possibility for development, he spent several years grooming JJCC." They further explained, "their appearance is very handsome, and they’ve received individual training on their personality and stunts." JJCC is an acronym that stands for, "joining cultures." Jackie's CEO Sha-sha Lee explained to the Korean reporters by stating, "As formed and trained under the ambitious theme, ‘The world can be conquered when Asia unites,’ JJCC will amaze the world with their different music and a charm that has never existed before."

Billboard featured an article regarding the ethnicities of who is going to make-up for Jackie Chan's group, JJCC. The group is going to be comprised of four member. Three Korean members and one Australian-Chinese. This guys can each "rap, sing, dance, as well act." This is going to be interesting to see JJCC perform and debut in South Korea as well China.

Girls' Generation Fading?

The Wall Street Journal featured an article regarding how Girls' Generation is or might be fading. Even though they have their music video for "Mr.Mr" at over ten million views, there is a concern that the girls might be fading, simply looking at the number hits online. The reason is the lack in number of Youtube views, "they can do better." The explanation is that Psy is more popular in-terms of people watching the music video. The graph shows the viewership for Psy and Girls' Generation. They compared "Gangnam Style" and Girls' Generation's singles.

Do you agree with this chart? The reason is because China is a country that does not have "access" to YouTube. Another reason is because in Japan, it is not common to watch videos on YouTube; "CD's and DVD's" has more huge sales there. So what is your opinion about this?

4Minute's HyunA Wows the Audience at 'SXSW'

News media the Examiner explained about 4Minute's HyunA and how she did a "live set" for the "SXSW music festival." The article further goes on regarding how on March 11, 2014, HyunA took the stage and wowed the audience as she performed "Bubble Pop" and "Ice Cream." HyunA receives much love here in the United States because of Psy and her version of "Oppa Is Just My Style."

When HyunA performed, she wore a "two-piece sunflower covered outfit" as she performed "Bubble Pop."

HyunA also performed "Change", "Ice Cream", as well as "Attention." Audience truly enjoyed her performance.

Orange Caramel Has a Music Video that can be Viral

Popdust featured an article regarding how Orange Caramel's latest new single, "Catallena" might be a "viral hit" just like Psy's music video, "Gangnam Style" and Crayon Pop's "Bar Bar Bar." The music video shows the girls dressed as sushi and "pre-packaged" in plastic wraps. Just five days, the music video has been watched numerous times as well as already having numerous views, which is just going to keep climbing in the coming weeks and months.
