NBA MVP Ladder: Oklahoma City Thunder Forward Kevin Durant Stats Of 2014 Season Proves Why He Is On Top; LeBron James Sneaking Up From Behind?

NBA MVP Ladder: It's a battle of who will win the best player, otherwise known as the Most Valuable Player this year as top players Kevin Durant and LeBron James outplay each other throughout the season.

The reigning scoring champion is aiming for the NBA championship title and the MVP title as he continues to dominate and lead his team as they stay on top of the Western Conference.

Kevin Durant recently recorded 12 games with 30-plus points each game that ended in Brooklyn last month.

"To be honest, I didn't care at all," Durant said of his streak ending. "I just play the game, just on feel, just on instincts."

Durant scored 54 points and a couple of 40 point games during his streak and he still dedicates those games to the teamwork of his team that he doesn't take the credit rather saying it is a team effort that helped him achieve that feat.

"I hate taking the credit when our whole team is going out there and playing well," Durant said. "It was cool, don't get me wrong. It was something not to be taken for granted. But I'd rather our team get the credit than just myself, because its not just me going out there and contributing to that. Reggie making great passes, Perk (Kendrick Perkins) setting great screens, Serge opening it up for me with his shooting and his rebounding, his shot-blocking. So I'd rather the team get the credit, because I kind of like staying under the radar, I guess."

On the last game of his 12 game 30-plush point streak, the Thunder forward didn't feel like he lost the streak, saying that the game was more important for him than his scoring streak.

"I'd much rather take the win," Durant said. "That's my type of game, just playing how the game is played. If they're doubling, make the pass. Play easy. Not try to force anything. That streak was good while it lasted, but that was the last of my concerns."

Durant is currently averaging 31.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists while second place of the MVP race LeBron James has 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
