NBA Draft 2014: Jabari Parker is The Most 'NBA Ready!' According To CP3, Melo And Paul George - Even His Future Rivals Agree!

The NBA Draft 2014 is just three months away and the Big Dance signals the impending end of the college basketball season. Some prospects can still have last ditch stands to move up the board.

However, as of now, the top three seems to be set. It has changed much between Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid. For most analysts, there is no clear cut no. 1 between them and it may even boil down as to which team has the pick. That's the GM's problem.

For the players, they can look watch their future rivals/successors on the court. They have a different standpoint from the coach or the GMs.

On the question of the top prospect in college basketball (they excluded Dante Exum), the clear choice was Jabari Parker. Just to dismiss accusations of a swingman bias, Chris Paul is a point guard since birth, but he didn't pick any point guard. It's Safari for Jabari.

From Yahoo Sports:

"Chris Paul: "For me, it's easy. It's Jabari Parker. I have an AAU team. I get a chance to see these kids when they're 14 and 15 years old. I'm at the Peach Jam. And Jabari, if you could still go to the NBA out of high school, I feel like he would've went. He's talented. He's ready for the next level."

Paul George: "My No. 1 pick would probably be Jabari Parker. He is the most polished college player right now, as well as one of the top players with the most upside. It's going to be a win-win for him in the future when he first steps into the league. I like his game. I'm a big fan of Jabari."

Carmelo Anthony: "I'm a big Jabari fan, but it also depends on who has the pick at the No. 1 spot. But as far as being ready-ready, I think Jabari is ready. I think the big kid from Kansas [Joel Embiid] has some upside and [Kansas' Andrew] Wiggins has some potential. But as far as being ready to come in and step right in and kind of make an impact, I'd have to go with Jabari, too, especially because of the way he plays. He can play multiple positions. He can put the ball on the floor. He can score. He is in that Duke system, so he has some savvy with him."

As you can see, the players will only look at how they can contribute now, and they totally have no regard for team needs (after all, this is not about who they would draft for their team).  They are also focused on the short term, and not considering the "upside" or the "ceiling."

From a raw players' standpoint, Jabari Parker has all the skills to contribute to a team. If he goes to a rebuilding team, he can average 15 points right from the onset.

As to "Where will he go from there?" that's another question.
