Cardiff City will face off against rival Liverpool on Saturday, placing two of the English Premier League's closely followed teams against each other.

Cardiff City, coming out of a 2-1 loss to Everton, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

Cardiff City Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær said his the Bluebirds can be "banana skin" for the Red's title hopes, WalesOnline reports. 

"Everton was similar to the Tottenham game, we had a good performance and we felt we should have had something," he said, according to the site.

"I was proud. Now it's a case of starting again against Liverpool and what a great chance to get something from a game which 99.9 percent of the world don't think we are going to get anything from."

Liverpool, coming out of a 3-0 win over Manchester United, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

Liverpool Manager Brendan Rodgers said Liverpool's win at Manchester United was statement of intent,  Sky Sports reports.

"It was a big statement. Old Trafford has been a notoriously difficult place over many years but we played with such dominance," he said, according to the site.

"It was United's ground, mostly their supporters but it was our ball. We controlled the game."
