This will be Wayne Simmonds' third game against his former team, and second this season. But he still has a number of friends on the Kings -- he and defenseman Drew Doughty were roommates -- so the excitement remains, according to ESPN.com.

"That last game there when I played in L.A., that was my first game back in L.A.," Simmonds said. "It was nice to go back there and play, but obviously it's going to be a little bit different. They're coming to our building this time. It's nice to play against your old team."

The Flyers have moved into second place in the Metropolitan Division by winning five in a row against some of the best teams in the League, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks and League-leading St. Louis Blues.

"I think we've just got to continue to have the same focus that we've had ... the last five games," Simmonds said. "Just keep going ahead, keep trying to create separation [in the Stanley Cup Playoff race], keep getting those two points every night."

Jonathan Quick, the 2012 Conn Smythe Trophy winner's latest effort, put him in the record books, as his 24-save effort in Saturday's 4-0 win over Florida gave him a club-record 172 victories.

"I've been very fortunate up to this point in my career," said Quick, who supplanted Rogie Vachon for the franchise mark, while his 30 shutouts are two shy of his record in that category.
