Edmonton received more bad news Monday when goaltender Viktor Fasth may have sustained a sprained neck. Fasth collided with Anton Lander during a rush and was on the ice for an extended period of time while being attended to by the Oilers' training staff, according to NHL.com.

"I didn't see it," coach Dallas Eakins told the Oilers website. "He got driven into the net off a rush and banged his head. He wasn't concussed or anything, but I guess [he] sprained his neck. He's going to go see the docs, and if we have to call someone up, we will."

The Sharks are officially headed back to the postseason after picking up a point in Monday's 2-1 shootout loss at Calgary. Their 10 consecutive playoff appearances make up the NHL's second-longest active streak behind Detroit's 22-year run, according to ESPN.com.

"It was probably an inevitability but there is satisfaction in clinching," coach Todd McLellan said. "That was one of the goals that we set out to do and they've accomplished that. It would've been nice to get the two points, obviously we're in a heck of a race for other things so that's a little bit disappointing, but we have to move on."

Injury report, according to NHL.com:

"The Sharks are missing forwards Tomas Hertl (knee) and Raffi Torres (knee). Defenseman Brad Stuart returned to the lineup Monday after missing 13 games with an upper-body injury. ... Besides Fasth, the Oilers are expected to be without forwards Jesse Joensuu (high ankle sprain) and Nail Yakupov (ankle). Defenseman Anton Belov (oblique) could return to the lineup."
