West Bromwich Albion will face off against rival Cardiff City on Saturday, placing two of the English Premier League's closely followed teams against each other.

West Bromwich Albion, coming out of a 2-0 loss to Hull City, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

West Bromwich Albion Manager Pepe Mel said he wants the Baggies safe rather than face a do or die survival game with Sunderland, Express UK reports.

"I'm only concentrating on winning against Cardiff. Cardiff is the 'final'. It's the same for us as it is for them. The only thing that will do for us is a victory," Mel said, according to the site.

"We've been looking at our the errors and mistakes. It was within two seconds we lost the ball from the kick off against Hull, for instance, when we lost there 2-0 last week."

Cardiff City, coming out of a 3-6 loss to Liverpool, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

Cardiff City Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær said relegation-threatened Cardiff City must win at fellow strugglers West Bromwich Albion next Saturday, BBC Sports reports.

"I told the fourth official... we should get them on," he said, according to the site.

"It was one-and-a-half minutes at least where those two were stood watching; I said 'they're going to score.'"
