Hulu wants to be the next Binge Watch champion. The streaming service just gobbled upexclusive rights to the Fox series 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine" to go with their backlog of the Kim Kardashian hit reality show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." Hulu Plus will also get "Parks & Recreation" on a non-exclusive basis. "The Mindy Project" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" both air on 21st Century Fox's Fox network.

Hulu announced that previous seasons of Fox series "The Mindy Project" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will be available only on Hulu Plus and will not be available on either Netflix or Amazon Prime.  They also announced they will get shows from such NBC Universal-owned cable channels Bravo and E! like "Millionaire Matchmaker," "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," "Top Chef," "Top Chef Masters" and "Flipping Out."

In a new multiyear agreement with Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal, Hulu will have exclusive rights to past seasons of several popular TV shows. NBCUniversal is one of Hulu's parent companies, along with 21st Century Fox and Disney. Both "Brooklyn" and "Mindy" are produced by Universal Television.

Hulu recently signed on CBS's "Elementary" and ABC's "Nashville."

Hulu is owned by Comcast Cable, Walt Disney Co. and 21st Century Fox. The service currently airs in-season episodes of hit shows like ABC's "Scandal" days after they air on the network

The $7.99 Hulu Plus service has not been aggressive in getting access to past seasons of cable and broadcast shows. Those have gone to their OTT competitors Amazon, Crackle and Netflix.  Hulu generated $1 billion in revenue last year. The service is controlled by Disney and 21st Century Fox.

Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins used to be a 21st Century Fox executive. Hopkins said "NBCU programming has always been a significant part of Hulu's success and growth. We are excited that Hulu will be the home for fans to catch up, discover and binge these hit comedies and reality shows, many of which have never been available in their entirety on-demand. The value of the current season to us has a limit. We have to do other things."
