Meanwhile, the Nets are trailing the Toronto Raptors by a game and a half for first place in the Atlantic Division. The Raptors will be home to a Houston Rockets team that will be without Dwight Howard.

The former All-Star point guard and rookie coach, Jason Kidd, has led the Nets all the way back from a terrible 10-21 start to a post-season birth.

"Honestly, I couldn't even see it," Johnson said of reaching the postseason. "I kept saying to myself eventually this is going to turn around, things are going to turn for us. Eventually it did starting the new year. We were a different team, our mindset was different and the way we played was different."

With only a handful of games left, it will be tough for the Nets to grab the division and the Knicks to sneak in as the eighth seed. This game can go a long way in determining that.

New York went on a 17-2 run during Utah's drought, and Carmelo Anthony capped the surge with a pair of baskets for an 84-69 lead with 9:53 remaining.

"He's doing a lot of the little things," coach Mike Woodson told ESPN.com. "He's done that all season. He's been there when we needed him and now everybody is starting to chip in. It doesn't matter who plays. They're really taking advantage of the minutes they're getting."
