Samsung Galaxy Note 2 review, specs: The 5.5-inch Android phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is considered “a legend” and has been described as an “amazing phone.” The device, which sports as Super AMOLED display and 2GB of RAM, also has a hefty 3,100 mAh battery. Because of its size, this unit has been called the Anti-iPhone.

In a review we posted a few weeks ago, commenters showered the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with accolades.

“Really amazing smartphone. Used it more than a year ago. Never think to replace it for now. Maybe note 4. Note 2 a legend,” wrote user Kakuwa.

“Amazing Phone!,” exclaimed user Cliff M. Chesley. And yet another commented said that “Samsung [stepped] up their game when they release the note 2 from sister note 1.”

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features an 8-inch megapixel camera and 1.9MP front shooter. When the device was first launched, it was released in three versions: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. In terms of battery, the second-generation Samsung Galaxy Note came with a 3,100 mAh battery.

The display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a 267 pixel density. Color variants of the unit itself comes in four options: White, gray, red and brown. In terms of connectivity options, the phablet has a WiFi, WiFi encryption and Bluetooth.

The Note 2’s display translates into a wide-screen 16:9 aspect ration instead of the 16:10 that came with the Samsung Galaxy Note. In a review by CNET it noted that the display is as “lovely as ever” and gives deep blacks and vibrant colors.

An integral feature of the Note 2 is its S Pen stylus. Though it adds to a great experience with the device, CNET noted that all you really need with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is your fingers. The TouchWiz interface adds great functionality that extends Google’s Android version. The issue though is that it’s getting a little bit outdated and lacks the elegance of other OS variants.

The Note 2’s bulky size can be a turn-off for some people but it’s an advantage specially for streaming videos and even gaming.
