Crayon Pop's 'Uh-ee': A One Hit Wonder Or Will They Re-Climb The Charts?

Can Crayon Pop's "Uh-ee" reclimb charts again? Crayon Pop's new single "Uh-ee" stood in between the paths of depreciation and rally.

According to Korea's major music chart Melon, Crayon Pop's "Uh-ee" ranked #35 on charts. The song recorded #22 on Mnet, #25 on Bugs, #36 on Olleh, #20 on Soribada, #37 on Naver, #21 on Daum, #35 on Monkey3, and #44 on Genie, pushed out from the TOP 20 tier on most charts.

"Uh-ee" had swept music charts upon its release on April 1. However, after Park Hyo Shin's "Wild Flower", A-PINK's "Mr.Chu", Bro's "That Kind of Guy", and Soyou and Junggigo's "Some", "Uh-ee" has been pushed down from the top. Considering their success with previous song "Bar Bar Bar", "Uh-ee"'s depreciation is disappointing.

"Uh-ee" contains a fast beat and a powerful electronic sound mixed with a trot-style melody. The members of Crayon Pop, who appeared in helmets for "Bar Bar Bar", now wear red bandanas with ramie clothing and rubber shoes.

However, "Uh-ee" is not as impactful as "Bar Bar Bar"; although "Uh-ee"'s music video exceeded 1 million views on its first day of release and 2 million view after 4 days, daily views have progressively dropped thereafter. The view count for "Uh-ee" is currently at 2,300,000.

Despite this, it's too early for disappointment. "Bar Bar Bar" managed to reclimb charts after its release in June, sweeping August charts and winning the 1st place trophy in music programs like KBS "Music Bank". Promotions of "Uh-ee" has just begun; it's not too late to keep hopes up, as Crayon Pop is also due for performances in Lady Gaga's tour.

Meanwhile, Akdong Musician's new tracks in debut album PLAY holds top spots in music charts.
