Kurt Cobain: Nirvana Tour 2014 To Feature Hologram Of Legendary Frontman Performing With Surviving Members!

The Nirvana 2014 tour will have a new twist for its fans. 20 years after his death, Kurt Cobain will appear on stage via the magic of modern technology.

A hologram of Kurt Cobain will perform with the remaining members of Nirvana. It sounds very strange and awkward, but it's not unprecedented.

In the 2013 Coachella Music Festival, a hologram of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur walked into the stage and performed one of his biggest hits, "Hail Mary."

The event was somewhat of an experiment as to how well the holographic images would be received. Thanks to the overall positive response, record executives and event organizers have mulled over the 'resurrection' of other deceased artists.

The choice of Kurt Cobain seemed perfect. The other members of the band are still active and their fan base is young enough to accept this type of technology (Elvis Presley fans would probably freak out).

The report from National Report.net:

"Now, through the magic of holograph technology, Cobain will once again bond with his fans through the medium of live performance. Truly, the only foreseeable downside are incredibly expensive ticket prices, with the cheapest seats going for several hundred dollars.

Dave Grohl, who has since went on to form his own successful rock group, Foo Fighters, had the following to say about the upcoming tour. 'We're doing this for the fans, pure and simple. It's been twenty years since the original Nirvana lineup has played together. It's going to be an honor to once again share the stage with Kobain. Lots of fond memories. I can't wait.'"

The tour is expected to kick off late in the summer of 2014. Prior to the hologram announcement, there were rumors that Nirvana would be fronted by other vocalists. Joan Jett was a possibility, but it never confirmed.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Nirvana tour!
