Accused Killer Texted Victim’s Father; Alleged Suspect Reported To Have Strangled GF To Death Is ‘Determined To Prevent Family From Realizing Dreams’

An accused killer texted her victim’s father saying, “She’s dead. I have the last laugh,” after Gabriel Galan Navarro, 20, strangled his girlfriend, Allison Leedy, 20, to death. According to prosecutors, the alleged suspect was “determined to prevent Allison and her family from realizing her dreams.”

The Huffington Post reports that the alleged suspect, Navarro, had been aware and angered by his then girlfriend’s plan to end their relationship and attend college in California. The prosecutors said that the Washington state man was “determined to prevent Allison and her family from realizing their dreams.”

Navarro faces first-degree murder charges in the death of his girlfriend.

On April 12, Navarro reportedly strangled Leedy in the Renton apartment where they lived. He then texted her family after the incident.

“If you are getting this you are responsible for Allison’s death. You turned her against me,” the 20-year-old alleged suspect for the murder wrote, reported the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Navarro also texted the woman’s father saying, “She’s dead. I have the last laugh,” the Huffington Post reports.

Prosecutor Adrienne McCoy described the couple’s three-year relationship as one characterized by “manipulation, isolation and psychological destruction,” reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, as cited by the Huffington Post.

According to police, the suspected murdered also called 911 and lied to a dispatcher claiming that he had flooded his apartment with propane gas and rigged it to exploded if anyone entered. Navarro also said that he was armed with a hand gun.

Police respondents went to the apartment complex and shot a window out with bean bags in an attempt to clear the place with any gas. Leedy’s boyfriend surrendered a short time later.
Local TV station KCPQ was told by the police that they believe Navarro’s actions were an attempt to get officers to shoot him.

“One of our concerns…was that maybe a lot of this was an effort to get us to the point where we’d feel that to deal with the threat, we’d have to shoot him,” according to the spokesman who was not identified in the reports.

After his arrest, Navarro informed the police that his alternate personality “Frost” was responsible for killing Leedy.
