High4, Akdong Musician & Park Si Hwan: Rookies Take Over Music Charts

K-Pop rookies are taking over the music charts.

On April 24, boyband High4 ranked #1 in three music charts: Melon, Naver Music, and Daum Music with debut song "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms".

The song, featuring IU, was composed by Lee Jong Hoon and Lee Chae Gyu; High4 and IU sing of the loneliness that accompanies Springtime. IU not only featured in the song but wrote the lyrics of the song and made an appearance in the music video, showing full support for the rookie group.

Akdong Musician, who signaled their debut with their album, is thriving on the charts as well.

Their title song "200%", track in their first album PLAY, has been #1 on Olleh Music and Genie since its release on April 7.

"200%" is a upbeat song composed and written by Lee Chan Hyuk. Akdong Musician expresses the innocence of being unable to muster up courage to confess love to one's lover.

Park Si Hwan, who debuted after his appearance in Mnet's "Superstar K5", topped Mnet charts with his first mini album title song "I Just Loved You".

The song was composed by Park Geun Tae and written by Shim Hyun Bo. As a medium-tempo Brit rock genre song, the forlorn regrets of a man after sending his lover away is expressed.

Meanwhile, Soribada's charts feature hip-hop duo Baechigi's "Mirage" as its #1. Monkey3 was taken over by 15&'s "Can't Hide It" while Cyworld Music features Yoon Mi Rae's "Black Happiness".
