Bbaekga and Oh Sang Jin Donates Their Talent to Meningococcal Meningitis Prevention Efforts

Koyote's member and photographer Bbaekga and Oh Sang Jin contributed their talents to the prevention of meningococcal meningitis.

Bbaekga and Oh Sang Jin will attend the meningococcal meningitis prevention campaign photography exhibition "Dear Tomorrows: Protect Our Futures from Meningococcal Meningitis".

The "Dear Tomorrow" exhibition was planned to make aware the dangers of meningococcal meningitis and break the stigma associated with the disease. Bbaekga planned the exhibition and photography, while Oh Sang Jin recorded the audioguide for the pictures. Their talents were donated to the cause without any compensation.

The chief of Korea's meningococcal meningitis center stated: "It was not an easy decision to disclose the scars and bruises from the disease. However, we gathered courage because meningococcal meningitis is a preventable disease, and we didn't want any more to be affected; like our campaign slogan "Protect our futures from meningococcal meningitis", we don't want to see any more dreams lost".

Bbaekga commented: "I know from experience that a disease not only has a residual effect on the body but also psychologically. I wanted to show meningococcal meningitis patients how beautiful and special they were. I hope this exhibition will allow an opportunity for people to think about the significance of meningococcal meningitis prevention".

Oh Sang Jin explained his reason for joining the cause: "I wanted to touch the hearts of the young meningococcal meningitis patients with my voice".

Meningococcal meningitis is a form of meningitis, which is one of the 10 most prevalent causes of death among infants and children. The initial symptoms present with fevers and headaches similar to those of the common cold, making diagnosis and early detection difficult. The disease progresses within 24-48 hours, and may result in growth plate damage even if detected early, leading to growth and learning disabilities.

The exhibition will take place from May 3-31 in the city art community gallery for free; the online e-book will be released on www.deartomorrows.co.kr on World Meninigitis Day, which is on April 24.
