Korean and Taiwanese entertainment have displayed numerous examples of mutual inspiration, over the past few months. The second season of "We Got Married:Global Edition" features Taiwanese idol Puff Guo (Guo Xue Fu), who has developed a burgeoning international following due to her career with the girl group Dream Girls and comic exploits in the drama Just You. Her "Just You" co-star Aaron Yan recently released a duet with Korean solo artist G.NA, which is the theme song for his current Taiwanese drama "Fall In Love With Me". "My Queen," the 2009 Taiwanese hit drama has been adapted into the tvN noona romantic comedy "A Witch's Romance." Taiwanese and Korean entertainment are increasingly drawing influence from one another, with mixed results.

Male group OPPAs is an example of how adopting specific aspects of K-Pop through a formulaic process will not necessarily guarantee international stardom. OPPAs expresses a desire to share brotherhood with their Korean counterparts, acknowledging the cultural context of the term oppa.The group has also adopted many of the same marketing techniques K-Pop fans have grown accustomed to. OPPAs members Jeff, Eric, RJ, and Shawn are extremely photogenic, with selcas of the group readily available throughout the internet. In their newest music video "Hangover," OPPAs dances to choreography that many K-Pop fans have pointed out is very similar to 2PM Wooyoung's "Sexy Lady."

The leader singer of OPPAs has demonstrated dance skills which are influenced by K-Pop artists such as Big Bang's Taeyang. The concept and dance moves of OPPAs may borrow heavily from Korean pop, but as a Taiwanese group the performance feels more forced. OPPAs is a rookie group, which is reflected within the roughness of the presentation in the "Hangover" music video. It will be interesting to see how the group evolves over time and if they will have the opportunity to collaborate with Korean artists, in the future.
