Bryan Singer Sex Abuse Accuser Case: Bret Easton Ellis Invited to One of Bryan Singer's Parties; Lawyer Says Dozens of Victims Coming Forward

Bryan Singer, the director of the blockbuster "X-Men" movie franchise, was recently accused of sexual abuse by a man who said he attended sex parties when he was under-aged. The lawyer who brought it to court says there are dozens of victims who want to come forward. A well-known Hollywood writer also hinted that there is something behind the allegations.

Nevada actor Michael Egan III publicly accused Bryan Singer, the director of "X Men," of molesting him when he was 15.

The Daily News reported that Michael Egan III, Bryan Singer's sex abuse accuser, claims in a lawsuit that ex-NBC Entertainment head Garth R. Ancier, former Disney executive David Alexander Neuman and Broadway producer Gary Wayne Goddard also engaged in inappropriate behavior with him in the 90s when he was a minor.

The lawyer who is suing "X-Men" director Bryan Singer and three other Hollywood bigwigs for sexual assault says he has heard from "dozens and dozens and dozens of victims" who allege sexual assault and abuse by "big names" in the film industry. Brian Singer and the other three men accused by Egan have vehemently denied the charges.

American Psycho writer Bret Easton Ellis recently said in a webcast that it's common to find underage boys at Hollywood parties. In a podcast with Alan Ball, Ellis said "There is the notion that Hollywood, by its very nature, kind of encourages this behavior in a way." Ellis also remembered when he was invited to what he calls one of Singer's "underage parties."

Ellis didn't say anything specific about the charges against at Singer, but said the scandal is a "murky, tricky thing." Ellis also admitted "I have suspicions of this case in terms of why it's being brought up now, with Bryan's movie about to come out. It just seems very calculated."

Singer's latest film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, will be released May 23.

The Daily Beast reports Jeff Herman, the Florida attorney representing Michael Egan said "I know of [a] Hollywood sex ring, completely unrelated to these [Singer and the other three defendants'] cases. We are finishing investigations, and will be filing suits soon. It will involve big names. It involves a different part of Hollywood: agents of kids, that sort of thing. There's really vile stuff going on in the industry. The scope is big, I'm hearing from a lot of people. It fits the pattern of children being sexually exploited."

Herman didn't give The Daily Beast any names of people involved in the alleged "sex ring."

Egan is suing for $10 million in in damages. He is suing on charges of battery, assault, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Egan filed federal lawsuits in Hawaii suing three other Hollywood figures. Hawaii allows alleged sexual assault abuse victims to sue, even after the statute of limitations expires.
