Upcoming Windows tablets 2014: Windows 8 is slowly but surely eating on Win7's lead in market share, thanks to Microsoft's partner OEMs who do not stop developing devices which run on the latest operating system.

And now, it is Acer's turn to launch another slate that is powered by Windows 8.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the world renowned PC manufacturer has recently unveiled the Acer Iconia W4 3G and has officially hit India today.

The Windows powered tablet packs some decent specs which can certainly help you accomplish a wide range of tasks, from simple to complicated.

The Acer Iconia W4 3G packs an 8-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution and a 178-degree viewing angle. That's pretty good if you consider the resolution, and that means people will find the tablet convenient to use even when slouching on a reclining chair or lying down.

The device runs on an Intel Atom Trail Bay T chipset, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM and a 64GB built in memory, which can further be expanded through microSD support.

For people who still love taking photos and selfies using their tablet, it is good to know that Acer did not miss out on that part. The Iconia W4 3G packs a 5MP camera at the back that is capable of shooting 1080p clips. There is also a 2MP front facing shooter.

In case you are wondering about the battery, the Iconia W4 3G's 4,960mAh battery would theoretically be enough to help any user last an entire day with medium usage.

Another extra in the device includes Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 for free. In the report, the Acer Iconia W4 3G costs Rs.29,999 or about $498 in India.

So are you interested in getting this device, or do you think its pricing is too steep given the tablet's specs?
