Upcoming Lenovo Laptops 2014: Chinese PC Maker Releases 2 Chromebooks, Specs Incl. Intel Haswell, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage, Pricing Begins At $279

Upcoming Lenovo laptops 2014: When it all comes down to specs, affordability and build quality, Lenovo is still at the top of the PC market. And now, it aims to take over even Google's Chromebook department.

In a recent blog post by GSM Arena, the Chinese PC maker has launched two new Chromebooks which specifically aim at the entry-level department.

But with an Intel Celeron Haswell CPU, we can expect these laptops to be power-efficient and fast at the same time. Unfortunately, they only have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

On the display side, the Lenovo Chromebooks, dubbed N20 and N20p boast the same 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution.

So what's the difference between the two Lenovo devices? Well, the N20 has the standard laptop design which would appeal to those on a very tight budget. At only $279, this is certainly a great deal for consumers who are looking to get a capable device with an affordable price tag.

On the other hand, the N20p flips backward, which makes the keyboard the device's stand. In this position, the only practical reason is that the laptop's display is touch enabled. And that's exactly what the Lenovo N20p is. If you are a fan of Lenovo, the image above reminds us of the Lenovo Flex which launched a couple of years ago.

For consumers who can afford a little more in order to get the better design and touchscreen experience, the N20p costs just $329.

Since Lenovo became the top PC maker a couple of years back, it has since moved forward with its PC development, and even crossed into the mobile market with its Android-powered smartphones and slates.

We'll see how these two Chromebooks would fare against the competition for the Google's homecooked laptop platform.
