Aaron Shock gay rumors were swirling a few weeks ago when a shirtless Instagram pic of the fit lawmaker caused some discussion. The alleged photo, which was said to be spontaneous, brought about conversations made earlier this year on the 32-year-old GOP politican’s sexuality.

It is important to note that last January, journalist Itay Hod has blindly insinuated that Rep. Aaron Shock is a closeted. The New York Times and even the conservative media picked up the story.

A week ago, Queerty ran a story on the congressman with the title “Aaron Shock Defends Decision To Instagram Surfing Pic,” where they used creative punches to highlight Rep. Shock’s sexuality. The report used the words “closeted” and “not gay” in playful terms to talk about the congressman.

An earlier story by the site focused on a long Facebook post by gay anchor Itay Hod, where he was said to have essentially outed the Republican congressman. Queerty noted that though Hod frames the post as a hypothetical exploration of when outing is appropriate, he provides a lot of details and concludes with a link to a post the “7 gayest Instagram Photos of Aaron Shock from 2013.”

Below is the lengthy Facebook post that purportedly suggests that one of the youngest members of the U.S. Congress is gay.

“what if you know a certain GOP congressman, let’s just say from Illinois, is gay… and you know this because one of your friends, a journalist for a reputable network, told you in no uncertain terms that he caught that GOP congressman and his male roommate in the shower… together. now they could have been good friends just trying to conserve water. but there’s more. what if this congressman has also been caught by tmz cameras trolling gay bars. now what if you know that this very same guy, the darling of the gop, has also voted against repeal of don’t ask don’t tell, opposed the repeal of doma, is against gay marriage; and for the federal marriage amendment, which would add language to the us constitution banning gay marriage and would likely strike down every gay rights law and ordinance in the country?”

“Are we still not allowed to out him?”

“Let me ask another question… doesn’t the media have an OBLIGATION to expose his hypocrisy? if he had done something so hypocritical and he wasn’t gay, wouldn’t we demand journalists do their job? but they can’t… because we won’t let them. you’re not allowed to out ANYONE, we tell them.”

After Queerty ran the story on Itay Hod’s Facebook post, the congressman has shut down his Instagram account. He has neither commented on these set of rumors suggesting that he’s gay.

The GOP lawmaker and one-time Men’s Health cover model has long been the subject of rumors about his sexual orientation. Shock has been on the record saying he’s straight, but many particularly from the mainstream media has questioned his sexuality repeatedly.
