The K-Pop invasion is not slowing down as many people globally are getting into the culture. News media Inside Korea featured an article about the German magazine Der Spiegel. The magazine is getting into K-Pop because they featured an article that was published on April 28th which reported about Korean pop music and how there is no sign of it slowing down in terms of "invading" other countries.

When they mean "invading," this means that K-Pop stars (current and future) will do world tours to promote and spread their country's music culture. Girls' Generation and Psy, were featured on the article and reported for how they traveled beyond South Korea to promote their country's culture. The article explained about how K-Pop has spread and reached millions of people; making them fans of various Korean artists.

The magazine wrote, "The world map of pop is changing rapidly… All of this is happening across the world, probably nowhere as much as in Asia. Japan and China have one thing in common: the youth loves Korean pop music."

Psy and His Popularity in the US

When Psy came out with his single, "Gangnam Style," K-Pop fans in the United States imitated his catchy horse galloping choreography. Psy's music video on YouTube has almost two billion views and is still climbing. Fans of Psy cannot wait to see what new concept he will return with. They do know that he is going to have a feature with Snoop Dogg and Big Bang's G-Dragon for one of his singles. So, fans are looking forward to this.

Due to YouTube, "Gangnam Style" got popular in the United States. The magazine stated, "From the West’s point of view, this mocking song came to life out of nowhere. When a person listens to K-Pop, there is something unique because it has both a Eastern and Western cultural influence. Also, since stars are now traveling to the United States and Europe, they are getting ideas and putting some hip-hop and techno flare to their music.

The article concludes that Psy's worldwide success was due to his personality and clownishness for his single, "Gangnam Style;" for Girls' Generation, even though they did do a tour in Los Angeles and New York in the past, they have yet to travel to other states in the US.
