New Android phones 2014: This year, a lot of high-end smartphones and flagship devices have already been launched by various manufacturers. Unfortunately, for the consumer on a budget, nothing really matters except price. 

Fortunately, India has a handful of phone manufacturers which provide a lot of value in their smartphones, for less. 

According to a report by GSM Arena, one of these mobile makers, Micromax, has just unveiled another high quality phone with a price tag that can rival that of an entry-level smartphone. 

Dubbed as the Canvas Elanza 2, the Android-powered smartphone packs a punch even if its name is uninspiring. In the report, the Micromax-manufactured device packs a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a quad-core CPU running at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, and 2.23GB user available built-in memory. 

Fortunately, also on board is a microSD card slot that can support up to 32GB of expanded storage. There is also an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 2MP front facing shooter. 

In case you are particular with the phone's operating system, you may get disappointed that it only runs on stock Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. We do not have further details yet whether Micromax would release a Kitkat update in the future. 

Completing the phone's design is what Micromax calls as a 'luxurious' leather battery cover to keep the Canvas Elanza 2 stylish as possible. In the past months, the Indian manufacturer has been working on a number of midrange devices with super low prices, and so far the strategy has worked for the company. 

However, we would be more than willing to pay for a high-end spec'd Micromax smartphone that costs just half of the current flagships in the market today. 

So how much do you need to pay to get these decent specs? Just Rs. 9,340 or only $155. Considering the pricing, one would certainly think it to be an entry-level device. But if you are looking for a decent smarphone experience with just a minimum amount of financial commitment, then the Micromax Canvas Elanza 2 is already a great deal.
