The Cleveland Browns did not seem to learn from their basketball counterparts. They drafted Johnny Manziel, a close friend of former Cavs star LeBron James.

The Browns reportedly tried the modern practice of 'analytics' to help them make the correct draft choice, but they still ended up with Manziel aka Johnny Football. He's a close friend of LeBron James and both are represented by Maverick Carter.

Elite Daily reported that the analytics study they commissioned yielded a different result:

"In hopes that it would help the them find the best quarterback to fit Kyle Shanahan's offense, the Browns looked to analytics as a guide. The study showed that the correct choice, if they were to use their no. 4 overall pick on a quarterback, would be to draft Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater over any other quarterback, including Texas A&M's Manziel.

And while Cleveland didn't end up picking any quarterback with the no. 4 pick, the Browns found themselves in the scenario for which they sought the help of a study anyway.

After trading up four spots from 26th to claim the 22nd overall pick, Cleveland ended up having a choice between Bridgewater and Manziel again. As we all know, they chose the latter."

While Manziel is definitely talented, off-court issues and questionable discipline have brought  him down to the 22^nd overall pick. Which is why Browns owner Jimmy Haslam reminded him that "this is not Hollywood!"

The full quote from the Cleveland Plain Dealer: "We were frank with (Manziel) on Friday that's the expectation, you're the backup quarterback. This is a hard-working, blue-collar town, this isn't Hollywood. We want you to come in and go to work."

He also reiterated that Manziel is not starting right away:

"Brian Hoyer is the starting quarterback. It's his job to lose."

Browns center Alex Mack is not so sure though. From nfl.com: "I think good old Johnny Football is going to be a good addition to Cleveland. Don't know who the starter is going to be, though."
