Casey Kasem Found; Top 40 Radio Icon and Voice on Scooby Doo Spotted in Washington State

Radio icon Casey Kasem who was reported missing a few days ago, was spotted in Washington State.

According to a statement released by his daughter's publicist, Casey Kasem has been located in Washington State.

In a statement on Wednesday night, Casey's daughter Kerri Kasem said "We are grateful to local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home."

Authorities found the longtime former American Top 40 radio and his wife visiting others at a home. According to sheriff's department spokesman Scott Wilson, the couple told deputies they were on vacation. After determining Casey was not in distress and was receiving appropriate care, the deputies left.

A statement from Danny Deraney, Kerri Kasem's publicist, said "We have received confirmation that Casey Kasem has been found. The family has grave concerns about his health and will do everything in their power to bring him back home."

The statement added that Kasem's exact location in Washington "is still being determined." Kitsap County authorities have not released the address where they found Kasem.

According to the statement, the family still has "grave concerns about his medical care."

Casey Kasem, the iconic DJ who suffers from Parkinson's disease, disappeared from a Santa Monica hospital around May 6.

On Monday, a judge ordered an investigation into the whereabouts of Casey Kasem after his wife's lawyer said the  voice of radio's "Top 40" was removed from Los Angeles without his children's knowledge.

Casey Kasem's children complained that they were barred from seeing their father in accordance with an agreement with their stepmother. On Monday, Casey's daughter Kerri Kasem was appointed her father's temporary caretaker.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered a court investigator to find the missing Kasem six days after he disappeared after a May 6 visit by his children at a Santa Monica hospital.

Julie Kasem said "All because his children dared to come and visit him. Crazy, crazy, crazy. Such a case of isolation. ... Jean was talking to her niece in Washington on the phone, saying, 'I need an Indian reservation with a private airstrip and I want to bring Casey there.' Her nephew overheard, and immediately alerted Kerri [Kasem, Julie's sister]. "We're all sort of family, in a twisted way."

Jean Kasem did not appear in court. Her lawyer, Craig Marcus, said he had "no idea" where Casey Kasem is. The lawyer only said that he is out of the country.

Casey Kasem's first wife, Linda Myers Naylor, who is the mother of Julie, Kerri, and Mike Kasem, says Casey was isolated by his second wife, Jean. "No one was allowed to visit. Jean visited [Casey] once in a while on the weekend. The kids got to see their dad, he mouthed, 'I love you.' Then his wife [Jean] went in that night, dumped him into a car and took him away. He had an IV plus a stomach feeding tube. ...  This horrible woman, he's literally afraid of her."

Former American Top 40 radio DJ Casey Kasem, 82, is reportedly worth $80 million.
