‘Halo 5: Guardians’ Release Date Set For Fall 2015! Upcoming Xbox One Title From 343 Industries A ‘Bigger Effort’ Than Previous Game; Built On A New Architecture

A new timeframe for "Halo 5: Guardians" release date has been announced.

Fans who have been waiting for news about Halo 5 release date should be delighted to know that a launch timeframe for the game was already revealed. The upcoming Halo game should arrive next year!

Aside from revealing Halo 5 release date, the official name for the upcoming Xbox One title was also announced - "Halo 5: Guardians." Halo 4 creator, 343 Industries, shared that Halo 5: Guardians release date is set for the fall season of 2015.

As cited on CNET.com, the general manager of 343 Industries, Bonnie Ross, stated, "Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4. That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what's now a brand-new and more powerful engine."

He continued, "Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we've invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen."

Moreover, the development director for Halo 5, Frank O'Connor, told The Guardian about the game studio's approach when it comes to this soon-to-be-available title. "When you move to a new console, it is a transitionary period that lets you review your situation. In the case of Xbox One and Halo 5: Guardians, we're building a bigger game and we're building it on a completely new architecture. The engine has been completely retooled from the ground up to take full advantage of the Xbox One, both the power of the machine itself, but the infrastructure of Xbox Live."

Below is the synopsis for Halo 5, as posted on the publication site:

"Master Chief, the troubled hero of the Halo game series, has changed. The end of Halo 4 saw him battered and exhausted after his epic battle with The Didact. His best friend - the AI assistant Cortana - is dead, ravaged by a computerised sickness and then sacrificed to save humanity. We leave him contemplating his role in the UNSC, questioning everything he's fought for."

343 Industries has not made any official statements yet whether Halo 5: Guardians will be an exclusive title for Xbox One or an Xbox 360 version is going to be released. Check back on this site for more updates regarding Halo 5: Guardians.
