Nokia Lumia 525 review, specs: The Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 525 has a 4-inch display, sports 1GB of RAM and has a storage that could be expanded up to 64GB. The unit was announced November 2013 and is now available.

The Lumia 525 is said to be a variant of the Lumia 520 and not a successor, but with its feature, it seems that the handset maker aims to make this a budget-friendly hit. In an earlier report, it noted that the Nokia Lumia 520 is the most famous Windows Phone-powered handset.

Under the hood, the Nokia Lumia 525 has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, starts with 8GB of storage internally and is packed with a 1430 mAh battery. Connectivity options for the device include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and micro USB 2.0. The unit has a 5MP rear camera.

The Nokia Lumia 525 has an upgraded RAM capacity, allowing it to have more games and apps. In terms of built and design, the handset is proving to be different from 520 as it is being released in shiny colors. The Nokia handsets come in glossy orange, white and yellow. According to WP Central, there is also a Matte black variant, which gives the handset a subtler look.

Shells of the Nokia Lumia 525 are interchangeable, which makes it easy for prospective users to choose what they like in terms of color.

A key selling point of the smartphone is its built-in Outlook, Word and Excel. Huge thanks in part because of its Windows Phone 8 OS. You will also get 7GB free storage on Microsoft SkyDrive with the smartphone.

Power management from Nokia shows the following: Maximum standby time (14 days), maximum talk time in 2G is 16.9 hours, maximum talk time in 3G is 10.6 hours and maximum music playback is 48 hours.
